Saturday, August 7 2010 - Saturday, August 7 2010
Saturday 7 August, at 10am eastern standard time the Bundesbrief Society kicks off a worldwide "Celebration of Swiss Barns" with virtual tours of actual Swiss Barns in the USA, Canada and Switzerland.
The 200 year old Schmidt Dalziel Barn at Black Creek Pioneer Village is one of only 10 locations around the world that will act as meeting places where fans of barn architecture and culture can learn how the religious freedom movement of the Amish and Mennonites created the core of North American Heritage Barns. Some of these locations include Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Indiana, Tennessee, Toronto, Ballenberg and Klosters Switzerland.
This as a celebration of the last 500 hundred years of barn technology and all this can now be seen live on the Web. Visit one barn in person and see the other barns live on computer screens by simulcast. The simulcast will run from 10 a.m. to 12 noon only. The Dalziel Barn will be open for tours through the afternoon. For details about the spectacular Schmidt Dalziel Barn, visit our website at www.dalzielbarn.com
