Services and Safety

 

Strollers: available for $5.00 per day (subject to availability)

 

Baby Change Stations: available in all public washrooms at the village

 

Accessibility: Disabled access in the village varies from building to building. A number of the buildings have either full or partial wheelchair accessibility. For a complete list of accessible buildings please refer to the village map. Our interpreter’s are happy to accommodate our visitor’s needs if possible. Please note the Black Creek Historic Brewery Restaurant and Pub, located in the Half Way House Inn, is NOT wheelchair accessible.

Photography: Visitors are welcome to use photo and video cameras on site but only for non-commercial photography (commercial shoots must be pre-arranged). If you have any inquiries or would like to set up a commercial photography shoot please contact 416 736-1733.

Film is available in the Gift Shop. Tripods are prohibited inside the buildings.

 

Safety: Please observe these policies and guidelines to ensure the well-being and safety of all visitors and preservation of our historic collections:

  • Smoking is not permitted in the historic areas.
  • Seeing eye and hearing aid dogs are welcome. All other pets must be kept on a leash, accompanied at all times, and may not enter historic buildings.
  • Picking of flowers, crops or fruit in the Village is not permitted.
  • Climbing walls, trees or fences is not permitted.
  • For their own well-being, we do not permit the feeding of farm animals.
  • Visitors are requested to leave strollers outside the furnished houses in the Village. A limited number of strollers are available for rent at the front entrance.
  • Some historic buildings are not accessible by wheelchair, or access is through an alternative entrance nearby.
  • Rollerblades, skateboards and bicycles are not permitted in the Village.
