More than 275 traditional and modern quilts cover, drape and adorn Black Creek Pioneer Village in a spectacular outdoor art experience, July 29 and 30.
Imagine getting to see a whole trunk of quilts made by one person and hearing the story of their quilting journey! Trunk Shows will be held both days in the Town Hall.

Indigo Dyeing Workshops
Silk Scarves & Resist Dyeing Techniques / Time: 12:00 p.m. / Cost: $15.00 + HST
Discover the magic of dyeing with indigo! Learn resist dyeing techniques with Black Creek’s Costume Designer in an introductory workshop. Leave with your own indigo dyed silk scarf. Spaces are limited! Register below! (All materials are provided.)
Open Dip Indigo Dyeing / Time: 2:30 p.m. / Cost: $10.00 + HST
Dyeing for more colour? Join Black Creek’s Costume Designer for an open indigo dip as she brews up another batch. Bring up to 100 g of any natural fibre to dip in the pot while still learning the basics of indigo dyeing. A great way to enrich your craft practice such as quilting, rug hooking, knitting and more! (Please bring own materials to dye). Spaces area limited! Register below!
- Workshops take place at Samuel Stong’s House in the Village. Please check in with Admissions for directions.
- The workshop will start at the designated time so please arrive 10 minutes early. Workshops are approximately one hour long
