What would you find on a farm long ago? Students learn about the roles that family members, farm animals, and plants played on a family farm.

Build on knowledge gained in the Virtual Field Trip by adding one of the following optional workshops:

  • What is an Artifact? (Grade 2): Students are sent on a mission to find an object that represents an important event or celebration they participate in with their family. At the next session, an educator will join the class live from the Village, to reveal what different objects can teach us about how families in the past came together.
  • Then & Now (Grade 1): Students are given the task of drawing a picture or taking a photo of a place in their community that they go to with their family. At the next session, an educator will join the class live from the Village to discuss how we use old photos and maps to learn how communities change over time.
  • Stories & Games (Junior/Senior Kindergarten): Students receive a package with a variety of photos, activities, and games from the past. These can be used at home or in the classroom. At the next session, an educator will join the class live from the Village to engage students in an interactive story that will reinforce concepts learnt in the first session.
