CHAPTER TWO
“I would be excellent at baseball; I simply don’t care for it!” With that, you shut the door in their faces. Baseball has so much running and sweating. Why do the boys like it?
“Edith, Aunt Alice is here!”
Huzzah! You can perform your new poems for her. Aunt Alice always compliments your recitations.
But when you get downstairs, you see Mother looking frazzled in the kitchen — she needs help with the baking.
You pause. You never see Aunt Alice, so you don’t want to give up any time with her. But what will she say, if she sees that you’re not helping Mother?
