What’s On This Summer

Toronto’s most immersive outdoor heritage destination is in full bloom this summer. At The Village at Black Creek, history isn’t something you read about, it’s something you live. Wander through over 40 authentically restored 19th-century buildings, come face-to-face with rare heritage breed farm animals, catch live demonstrations by costumed historians, and experience a summer packed with festivals, workshops, and after-dark adventures.

Whether you’re planning a family day out, a solo escape into history, or a uniquely memorable group experience, The Village offers something extraordinary every visit. Open Wednesday through Sunday, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Border Leicester Sheep: The breed, developed in England during the mid-1700’s, became popular in Canada about a century later. A hardy breed, the Border Leicester adapted well to the cold climate.
heritage breed Clydesdale horses at the Village at Black Creek
Clydesdale Horse: Intelligent and comparatively lightweight, the Clydesdale was an excellent farm worker, with sound feet that also made it suitable for town haulage. Rare Breeds Canada now lists the Clydesdale as an “at risk” breed.
