Welcome to The Village at Black Creek, a living history museum that serves as the storytelling heart of our region!
Why the Name Change?
Since we opened our doors in 1960, much has changed. Toronto and its surrounding areas have grown and transformed – and we’re evolving too.
Building on our strong history as a living history museum, the time has come to for us to expand and enrich the stories we tell – stories that acknowledge and recognize the many communities that have shaped this land and place we call home, including Indigenous peoples who have lived here for millennia.
A Village for All
The word “village” has always been central to who we are: a gathering place for people, stories, and ideas. Around the world, villages represent community and collaboration.
Our Village reflects the interdependence of people and nature, and our programming brings this to life in engaging ways.
You can still expect the same iconic stories of our past that have delighted visitors for decades, but we’re growing to provide you with a wide variety of fun, meaningful, and illuminating experiences.
From art installations to thematic escape rooms to inspiring workshops with Indigenous artists – you can find it all right here at The Village.
Explore, Learn, and Belong
At The Village at Black Creek, history comes to life through storytelling, immersive programming, and hands-on activities.
Whether you’re exploring our scenic grounds, discovering the hidden stories of real people, or engaging with our creative programming, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
We invite you to find your place here and experience the rich, untold stories of our region.
It takes a Village to share our real histories. Find your place at The Village at Black Creek.
