- Weekday Guided Tours & Experiences: Dive deep into history with a series of 50-minute guided tours, then explore further on you own.
- Weekend Self-Guided Experience: Discover The Village at your own pace, and encounter costumed historians inside heritage buildings.
Weekday Guided Tours & Experiences
Escape to The Village and take a deep dive into the past!
Curious about what it was really like to live in southern Ontario in the 1800s? On fall weekdays, join a costumed historian for a series of themed tours and experiences, each focused on a different aspect of real life.
Weekday Guided Tours & Experiences are included in your General Admission fee. Please note that a limited number of costumed historians will be on site.

- In Her Shoes: Gender and Society
- Cures & Quacks
- Green Living
Tours begin at the following times:
- 11:15 a.m.
- 12:30 p.m.
- 2:00 p.m.
- 3:00 p.m.
Weekend Self-Guided Experience
Explore The Village at your own pace!
Check out the heritage buildings, wander through the gardens, visit the animals, and encounter costumed educators at Discovery Stations located inside many heritage buildings.
Discovery Stations are included in the General Admission fee.

- Join us at The Village for our Fall Festival (September 21 and 22) and our Halloween celebration (October 19, 20, 26, and 27). Tickets are available online and at the door.
- Be sure to visit The Village’s newest exhibit, Invented: Propelled by Imagination, and explore how scientists from the 1800s influenced science fiction writers who, in turn, inspired new inventors! What would you invent?
- Don’t forget to stop by the Gift Shop on your way home to find the perfect memento of your time at The Village.
- Staying for lunch? Take advantage of our ample green spaces and enjoy a family picnic on the grounds. Stop by the Gift Shop for light snacks and treats. On weekends, enjoy a sandwich from the Pavilion Snack Bar. (#36 on The Village map.)
