Celebrate Women’s History Month with The Village!
On October 5, The Village will come alive with music and art celebrating Women’s History Month. Enjoy a vibrant array of local and international women-led performances throughout the village, set in various buildings and unique settings.
Produced by FabCollab, a Toronto-based performing arts presenter led by Indigenous and women artists, this event features:
- Lara Wong Flamenco Quartet: Experience a blend of flute, guitar, singing, and dance.
- Tara Moneka Arabic Jazz Trio: Immerse yourself in captivating vocals, percussion, and violin or saxophone.
- Ooldouz Pouri Iranian Trio: Delight in soulful performances with voice, oud/guitar, and percussion.
- Indigenous Performers and Workshops: Engage with traditional and contemporary Indigenous arts with Cotee Harper – Fancy Shawl Dancer & Adrienne Linklater – Moccasin Maker.
FabCollab, founded in 2020, is dedicated to showcasing global music and dance while facilitating collaborations among diverse artists. With over 200 artists presented, including partnerships with Koerner Hall, the Aga Khan Museum, the ROM, and Luminato Festival Toronto, FabCollab continues to spotlight minority voices, focusing on BIPOC women and gender-diverse artists.
